The Bespoke Waistcoat

Cut and tailor your classic Waistcoat (male or female)

Our Online Tailoring classes are popular with participants from around the globe: supported by our team of expert tutors at all times, students have learned to make a bespoke jacket and pair of trousers, at a professional level. The time has come to complete the three-piece suit. The obvious next step: a class dedicated to the bespoke waistcoat. Once again there is a comprehensive yet easy-to-follow curriculum: we lead you, step-by-step, through the process of drafting, cutting and tailoring your waistcoat. Starting with the draft of your unique cutting pattern, we teach you to cut and fit your garment perfectly, to then complete it with a beautiful, professional hand finish.

The class is suitable for participants with at least intermediate sewing experience. Experience with needle and thimble is useful. Prior experience in pattern construction or tailoring is not needed. Please be aware you have a choice between drafting your pattern for the male OR female figure type. Tailoring techniques are, however, identical for either and you will gain the full skill set needed to make men’s and women’s waistcoats. A video tutorial and pattern draft instructions for the ‘other’ figure type are available for purchase.

Starting  18 September, the class takes place every Friday 10 am to 1pm UK time, concluding on 18 December 2026. Please see the full schedule below. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first serve basis to eligible candidates. The course fee is £795 incl. VAT and includes comprehensive PDF literature, recordings of each class and access to tutors between sessions. A video tutorial is made available after each session to enable self-study in your own time. A chat channel is open Monday to Friday, allowing you to discuss any queries directly with your tutor.
